LOW VACCINE CLINIC: NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED

LOW COST VACCINATION CLINIC

We will help you determine which vaccines are needed for your pet.

We offer low cost vaccinations on a first come, first serve basis.

No appointment is necessary if your pet only needs vaccines but please be advised that due to the walk in nature of the vaccine clinic that wait times will vary. Certain apparent or suspected needs may necessitate the requirement for an exam prior to vaccines being administered for health concerns.

  • Just due for rabies? Only $20! (Regular price $35)

Current Vaccine Schedule for Puppies/Kittens:

* Oral Bordetella can be given once every 6 months if the pet travels, boards, or is groomed very regularly.

* DAPPi can be given as early as 6 weeks of age, though LVC recommends 8 weeks. It is still recommended for the pet to have at minimum two sets if older than 11 weeks, but three to four sets are preferred when possible and in younger puppies & kittens.

* Leptospirosis is not to be given earlier than 11-12 weeks of age. And now considered a “core” vaccine meaning all dogs, all geographic locations, all ages, and all lifestyles are recommended to receive it.

* FVRCP can be given as early as 6 weeks of age.

* Rabies given to a pet for the first time expires after 1 year, the second administration of the Rabies vaccine does not expire for 3 years. Rabies can also be administered as early as 12 weeks in dogs and cats in LA County.

Maternal antibodies disrupt the pet’s ability to build immunity by way of vaccines, vaccines given while the puppy still has maternal antibodies in its system can be interrupted and potentially not as effective.

Vaccines are spaced 21-30 days apart to build immunity by “boostering” (repeating) each type of vaccine as necessary. The same is true for adult dogs that have no previous vaccine history (no paperwork = no proof of vaccines). An adult dog starting vaccines for the first time is recommended to receive DAPPi and Leptospirosis a minimum of two times, 21 days apart. Rabies and Bordetella are still given one time each.

Vaccines will not be given to pets with open wounds/visibly infected areas etc., nor pets who are coughing/sneezing/vomiting/ have diarrhea. Pregnant pets cannot be vaccinated - most vaccines have not been reviewed for safety during pregnancy and pose potential risk to mom and babies as a result.

If another vaccine not listed above is needed please call us at 909-341-7906 with any questions.
